Making Connections-Denver Staff Roles and Responsibilities

Martha Amaro
As the the receptionist at Making Connections-Denver Martha answers the phone, greets visitors and assists with administrative tasks. She can be reached at  the main number 720-891-4911or directly at 720-891-4918.

Jim Garcia
As the Site Coordinator for Making Connections-Denver, Jim is responsible for the "big-picture" work, including Partner recruitment, support for policy reform, fund-raising and sustainability. He is the chief liaison with the Annie E. Casey Foundation.  Jim can be reached at 720-891-4913.

Zulema Inai
Zulema is a member of the Piton Foundation staff and works as the Early Excellence Transition Coordinator. She consults about education of children age 0-5 as well as work on Social Networks development. Zulema can be reached at 720-891-4920.

Gloria Marrujo
As the Operations Manager for Making Connections-Denver, Gloria is the chief liaison with the Piton Foundation and the City of Denver on budget, policy and general operations.  She manages all Making Connections-Denver grants and serves as our liaison on immigration issues; and as an informal outreach worker. Rosella Palacios
As the Project Manager of the Community Learning Network, Rosella is responsible for the management of the community data volunteers.  Her primary focus is on building capacity on research and evaluation with residents. Carri Ratazzi:
As the Resident Engagement Strategy Coordinator, Carri supports the community organizing, civic engagement, social networks and resident leadership work of MC-D partners, staff and communities.  Carri is responsible for supporting Residents Partners involved in the MC-D Partnership and acting a liaison between residents and Making Connections-Denver.  Carri can be reached at 720-891-4922.

Candace RedShirt
As the Technical Assistance Liaison, Candace coordinates technical assistance needs for residents, staff and partners. She also works with the Annie E. Casey Foundation on national technical assistance and coordinates the Resident Leadership Corp.  Candace can be reached at 720-891-4919.

Shelly Travis
As the Community Research Team Manager, Shelly is responsible for the management of the community research team and leads the Participant Family Data Collection (100 Family Study). Shelly can be reached at 720-891-4921.

Sue Tripathi
As the Evaluation Manager, Sue is responsible for the evaluation of Making Connections-Denver. She serves as the Local Learning Partnership (LLP) coordinator and is responsible for the management of the Community Research Team and the Community Learning Network,  including  the Participant Family Data Collection (PFDC) or 100-family survey and the AECF local Cross Site Survey. Community Research Team
The Community Research Team includes residents and community leaders from Making Connections-Denver neighborhoods. The team reviews proposed research and conducts surveys. They are the primary staff conducting interviews for the 100-family survey which is longitudinal survey of 100 families most deeply involved in Making Connections-Denver strategies. A list of team members and more details of their work can be found on the Community Learning Network section of this site. The team can be reached at 720-891-4921.

  2. continue with spelling out their last name lower case
  3. type the "@" sign
  4. conclude with "mcdenver.org" at the end
