Community Research Team Attends American Evaluation Conference in Baltimore
Community Research Team member Rosella Palacios learned a lot about a model called Organization Collaboration that she can apply to her work at MC-D. She learned that in order for groups or organizations to be successful, they need to have a common understanding about roles, purpose and vision. Groups or organizations go through four distinct phases: 1) Assemble and form, 2) storm and order, 3) norm and perform, 4) transform and adjourn. Rosella sees how this applies to MC-D and our work and will use the model to guide the evolution of the new Community Data Volunteer group she manages. For more information contact Rosella Palacios at 720-891-4915 or rpalacios@mcdenver.org.

SCHIP Reauthorization Needs Our Support
The States Childrens Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) that covers nearly 55,000 uninsured children in Colorado needs our support to ensure passage in Congress. Reauthorization and increased funding would insure that 12,000 additional children, who are eligible but not currently covered, would be insured. Please call or write your congressperson. See below to download the Metro Organizations for People newsletter that gives more information on SCHIP as well as contact information for congress members.
